Up-and-coming journalists, film makers and TV stars should make a note in their diaries now because 1 JULY 2004 is the date of the first ever media careers conference organised especially for 14-19s in South Yorkshire.VISION MIX, which is being jointly organised by The Sheffield College and Showcomotion, is a conference for young people interested in a media careers taking place at the Showroom Cinema in Sheffield.

Students can select sessions and masterclasses when they register. There will even be CV surgeries and information on getting work experience in this competitive industry. Students can talk to people one-to-one at the industry stands covering a wide range of local media organisations and employers, training providers and educational establishments. Students can find out about the opportunities available, the qualifications, skills and the training you might need to make it in the media world.

Who’s it for? Anyone aged 14-19 years who is interested in a career in the media industries
How much is it? £5 per ticket, which includes VAT, conference pack, admission to 3 Masterclasses of your choice and lunch
